Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Offer Break / Fix Support?

The simple answer to this is yes – I do offer Break / Fix but I would never recommend it as a way of handling your IT.

Waiting for something to break and then hoping it can be fixed and your data can be saved is not, in my opinion, the way a business should focus its operations in 2025.

I also offer Fractional IT Support as well as a Professional Services Model that both allow us to be proactive.

Break / Fix service is billed at $100 per hour unless other arrangements are made.  There is a $100 arrival fee that covers the first hour.

Fractional IT support is essentially anything less than a full-time 40 hour per week employee.  Most companies that engage in fractional IT support know that they are going to need some kind of IT assistance every week so they may book me for 2 hours once per week.

Fractional IT support is ideal for business that have a very limited operating budget for IT at the moment but have a need for specialized expertise and are growing.

Fractional IT support generally transitions into a Professional Support Model as time progresses and the company grows in size and operations.

Fractional IT Support is billed in 2 hour increments at $85/hr unless prior arrangements have been made.

The hourly rate charged is simply for service (or labor) and does not ever include the price of any equipment.

The first step in working together is to schedule a 15 to 30 minute intake session via Zoom where we meet each other face to face, communicate on the nature of your business and why it’s important to you.  Based upon what you tell me I will have a list of standard questions and a few custom questions about your current IT environment.

Should we decide to work together I will draw up a Client Service Engagement contract based upon what you told me.  This will serve as the starting point for our work together.

Finally the third step before officially working together is I need to see the working environment to make sure nothing was overlooked that must be dealt with first such as the absence of an anti-malware program and / or the absence of a backup program.  Both of these pieces of software are mandatory to have in place and licensed on every machine that is to be worked on.

To schedule an initial zoom please fill out the form below and indicate that you would like to have a kickoff zoom.  Make sure you use a valid email.  I will respond to your request with a request for some background information.

A note about my contact information listed at the bottom of the screen.  The phone number that is listed forwards to my acutal cell phone number (which I will give to you should we work together).  I screen my calls very carefully and generally many calls will go to voicemail.  I will be back in touch as soon as possible.  The fastest way to get in touch with me is by texting the number at the bottom of the screen.

Currently I am not working in a corporate role so my working hours are very flexible.  I can generally schedule something anywhere between the hours of 9am and 8pm.  I also do provide weekend service by appointment.

A note about the above hours.  There is a chance I will be returning to a corporate 40 hour per week job.  If this turns out to be the case I will give you as much notice as possible.
